The distances between science and what is considered spiritual are getting shorter and shorter over the years, due to the attention that neuroscience is giving to various meditative practices. In fact, it is being demonstrated that the techniques to achieve an inner balance can represent a real hope towards the reduction of crime and deviance, in its various forms, precisely through the improvement of those functional areas of the brain that are involved in adoption. of criminal and deviant behavior. Therefore, through the study of the main research in the neuroscientific field it has been possible to affirm that the creation of programs focused on meditative practices can represent a valid remedy for optimizing restorative justice and beyond. The promotion of projects on the development of empathic activity and inner balance, integrated with penitentiary and especially school treatment, designs a new reality for the management of crime and deviance, from a rehabilitative and mainly preventive perspective.
